While going through the forum asking and answering questions, I got an Idea from a thread from Galium. Why not have a forum under "Imagevue X2" at the same level as "X2 features" and the like. It would be called something like "How-To's, Tips and Tricks" (H3T). No questions or comments in there, just answers.
Problems, issues and questions get worked out in the respective forums. Once it's solved for sure, publish the details in H3T.
For example...
...this thread...
viewtopic.php?p=17497#17497
might result in the entry like this...
--------------- begin example
Topic: How to ensure custom menu button order.
Message Body:
Problem description: Alphabetical, date or any other selection doesn't work for some people.
Suggestion (this works):
Let me tell you how I handle this issue. I like to have complete control over the order, so I have the names of the files for the menus start with a number and the title, what the user sees, without the number. For example, filenames for menu folders the users DO NOT see the following list...(this part gets typed in when you asked for the name after you click "create folder")...
0Home
1Portraits
2Favorites
3Help
4About Us
zContact Us
... the users WILL see the following list in this order... (this part goes in the title for the folders)...
Home
Portraits
Favorites
Help
About Us
Contact Us
Hope this is clear. Good luck.
----------------- end example
the only additions to this thread I'm using as an example should be alternative ways to solve the problem.
Remember this is a suggestion/idea. I'd like to hear what others think about it. If it has merit and certainly it can be improved. I think If you think about it and take it a step further, a number of questions that get answered in this manner can begin to fill in the blanks where documentation is still being developed. So, someone asks a question, -blam- it get's answered in the respective forum and immediately goes into the H3T forum. I know you're diggin' this as you're reading this right?
