I've noticed that the audio player does not autostart when my gallery loads.

I have enabled it in the config, with autostart on. Even with minimum_connection set to 1, it won't start. however, if i click on the play button in the controls, it plays without any problems.

Am I missing something?

The audioplayer also uses "cookies" to decide to play or not at startup. For example, if the player was PLAYING the last time you visited the gallery, it should play at start. If the audioplayer was on STOP last time you visited the gallery, it will NOT start. This is so that it remembers visitors preferences.

The thing is: even when I was playing audio last time, before I closed the browser, it's still not playing. Not with Safari4 and not with FF3? I don't feel like searching and deleting the cookie. Is there another way? Can I just set the audio to always play and not look for a cookie?

Not sure if you understood the above completely. Why would you need to delete the cookie? The cookie only applies for the computer it is running from ... If you want your audioplayer to play on startup, then just make sure it is playing when you quit the gallery. It will simply start in the last play state ... Other visitors will have their own state(some hate having a browser playing music, and some find it cool) ...

That's why I would love to disable this and force every browser for every user to play the music on startup.

I doubt that very much, unless you have disabled cookies in your browser. A link to your site would help solve that ...

You can not force users to always play audio (I dont see why you want to force audio upon a user who wants to have it off).
