Text, background Colors

07 Mar 2009, 00:28

Greetings,

trying to customize the look and feel of my gallery. I am having a hard time knowing where to make changes for text and background colors. Do I edit the CSS or edit the theme itself? Is there a map or document to show what part of the site is changed by a particular setting?

Thanks for the advice!

Admin-->Config is for site-wide changes i.e. how thumbnails will display regardless of which theme you are using

Admin-->Themes is where you would change some of the properties for that particular theme.

If you want to make deeper changes you need to Edit Theme Stylesheet.

My advice is to use the "create new" feature for the theme you'd like to change. That will duplicate the theme and you can experiment with it without making changes to the original theme.

Hope that helps (and is mostly correct LOL)

Thanks for the reply.

I have found those areas to make changes but what I dont understand is some of the descriptions dont make sense to me. I dont know where the change will take place. I have to change the color then see if I can find it. Takes forever!

For example: Default Theme... What is "MenuBack" I changed the color and cant find it.

Also, where do I change the text color and style that is used on the Menu as well as the text folders?

The default color is blue and I cant find it.

Thanks for the help!

ALL color and styles related to fonts are set in the theme CSS stylesheet. Read more here:

To edit your theme stylesheet, go to admin -> themes -> edit your theme -> edit theme stylesheet.
