Opera browser can't do fullscreen

13 Feb 2009, 01:19

This is most probably an Opera problem more than an Imagevue, but I need to see if there is an Imagevue workaround/fix for it. Opera will not display fullscreen IVX slideshows -- it tries for half a second then bails. I've seen other posts of similar Opera fullscreen problems.

I found a post of someone saying there's code to put in the html to fix the fullscreen display to be both 'screen' and 'projection' and that this should fix ithttp://www.designdetector.com/archives/03/02/T ... enMode.php
Code:
<link rel="stylesheet" href="styles.css" type="text/css" media="screen, projection" />

However, since my IVX slideshow is not embedded in html, I can't do this. Is there a workaround for this??

My page is: http://www.gpmalone.com/

Thanks!

(Opera only has a 3% browser market share -- but that's 3 out of every 100 users!)

Fullscreen mode works fine from my Opera ... Perhaps try updating your Opera? What operating system are you on?

That link "taming Opera's fullscreen mode" is just some issue about loosing CSS when going to opera's native fullscreen mode. It's not about the flash fullscreen mode, which is native to the flash player ...

Hi Karl,
I'm using the latest, Opera 9.6.3 for Mac Intel. When I click for fullscreen, the window pops to fullscreen for a fraction of second, then right back to non-fullscreen.

Can you see if that happens with your Opera?1

It works fine here on PC and Opera ... Perhaps someone on Mac can try it out and confirm?

It seems to be an issue specific to Mac. I've tried Opera 9.27.8841, 9.63.10476 and the latest alpha 10.00.1285, all with Flash 10.0.12.36 and Windows XP.

There's another issue with fullscreen when using Opera though. Once fullscreen is active I can no longer hit any of the interface buttons respectively interact with the Imagevue gallery at all. I need to hit the ESC key first to close the fullscreen mode, and then everything works normally. Strange...

CHROME fullscreen issue?

21 Feb 2009, 10:20

I've also heard from a Windows user using Google Chrome browser, that he also could not use the Imagevue control buttons while in fullscreen mode (like someone mentioned above with Opera) -- he also had to ESC out.

Chrome isn't available on Mac yet, so could anyone test this on my gallery please?

Thank you!

I think you are right... On CHROME, any interactivity seems to be disabled in fullscreen ... or it's like the entire area is a large button that does nothing. Of course, the gallery is running fine in the background, but to interact, you must click escape to go back into window mode.
