HELP PLEASE > How do I move the current Imagevue folder ?

Hi Guys, I have had plenty of fun last few days playing with the product, I now have a test site which I want to enable as my new homepage but in order to do so I suspect I need to move the contents of the /portfolio folder to the root /htdocs location on my webserver ? this is the only way I believe I can make it happen using my frontpage 2003 which I use to manage my site.
I had assumed that I should just copy/paste the folder contents of /portfolio to the root of /htdocs but on completion and set the index.php as homepage but on launching my site I lost all the tweaks I had made to the one sitting in the /portfolio location. I am RELUCTANT to do a MOVE of the files fearing I'll *uck it all up.
WHAT AM I DOING WRONG

??? someone please save me.
fyi : my website is hosted on a Linux box.
FIXED IT NOW !

After some manual changes of permissions and copying folders etc, It finally worked without too much effort.
It would still be good to know what could have speeded up the process if I had in fact missed something.

I guess we haven't taken into consideration users moving their gallery around on server ... If you do, it is important to also copy the "user" files in the /imagevue/config/, which are basically the changes you made to theme and config from admin.
OK another Quick Q ?

I downloaded the new CARBON theme and assumed I just extract the contents of the Zip into the themes folder on my server. When I choose CARBON from my admin screen and choose TRY it launches a browser with the loading circle thingy but goes no further, are there any instruction you can point me to for V2 to apply the themes ? Thanks

You are speaking of an Imagevue V1 template called "carbon" ... You can't use that for Imagevue X2. All the themes for X2 are already included in the download.

Hello mjau-mjau,
just saw your comment on V1 - seems I had similiar difficulties as sbuk73 to read your web site correctly ---
On page
www.photo.gallery/imagevue/templates/ the documentation goes: The templates below are all provided in the latest Imagevue download, but may also be downloaded directly from the links below. One of these is the below mentioned "Carbon" template. No note about it only working with the V1 Gallery...
On page
www.photo.gallery/support/templates/ it goes: To use the Imagevue- and Slideshow templates, you must first make sure you are using a version of Imagevue downloaded after 5. February 2007 (such as X2 from 08-12-23). If you have an earlier version, please get your latest release in the downloads section before you proceed with templates.....Templates are provided along with the latest release, but if you for some reason need to download templates independently, please goto the templates section. Again, no hint about it only working with the V1 Gallery...
Sorry to say that guys, but with this kind of documentation you provoke lots of useless comments in the forum and unneccessary work on your side answering stupid questions like mine (see
viewtopic.php?t=4534)
However, I still think you guys do an awesome job!

We're trying to update and improve documentation, but this is how far we got at the moment.
I think next docs should be wiki-based with easy navigation that just goes deeper and expand topics.

I would also include that we are now rebuilding our website because there is currently an incompatible mix of V1 and X2. New site will be mainly X2 focused, while V1 will be consolidated to a separate area.
