It appears that photoblinds doesn't adhere to the image > image > margin setting...

The main gallery slideshow section, uses margins to limit images. This is based on a lot of code, and the fact that it can control the frame, image and description.
Photoblinds is simply a plugin for filemod. The gallery has minimal control over filemods, because they can be external files with an amount of unknown elements. For example, photoblinds uses special mask effects - The gallery would not know how to resize these items.
The gallery can only position the filemod, but not resize it. All I can recommend is using a relatively humble image size that looks ok on most standard resolutions.
