Hello

I uploaded around 780 van gogh pictures into a subfolder. I however noticed that the images that are pretty tall compare to the other images doesn't get thumbnails created for them automatically. How can I fix so also they get thumbnails?

Thanks!

Perhaps you have a link? What dimensions are the portrait-style images?

Hi

Heres a link:
http://photogallerix.com/#/content/Pain ... _Van_Gogh/

The dimensions various from image to image in this folder. However I noticed not so long ago that not only "tall" pictures got this problem so I guess it has nothing to do with it.

Thanks

My host has "Safe-mode" enabled on their server not sure if it's because of that.

I think it may be the single quote' in some of your filesnames:
See this image
Try renaming this file, without using single 'quotes' ... Then click "recreate missing thumbnails ..." from the admin.

I checked further folders in your gallery, and found another folder where thumbnails were missing and not because of the name:
http://www.photogallerix.com/#/content/ ... o_Picasso/

All the photos in this specific folder are very big >2500x2500px. Most servers wouldn't be able to create thumbnails for these files anyway, because they would exceed the memory limit provided. However, it seems your server has been able to create thumbnails for some of these files(not sure how).

You can be sure of one thing - When creating thumbnails for this folder, each picture would require several seconds to resize because of the size. Not quite sure how your server would respond to resizing an entire folder.

Could you provide your admin login and pass then I can come back to you with more details.

Also requesting memory limit increase for php from your hosting support would help.

I think you are right. I probably added too many pictures in the same time. So the server cant make thumbnails to them all. However if I just add a few couple images and then let the server resize them, it seems to work.

Pain I have send you the username and password now.

I will ask the host I am using about the memory limit

Hmm its not about memory limit, there is something else wrong with your server, fisherman's wife for example just cannot be neither viewed nor thumbnailed from admin.

Could you please provide FTP login too?

And it would be better if you ask your server support to disable safe_mode. Imagevue works better without it, all those strange glitches when files uploaded by ftp not accesible from admin and vice versa cause by having safe_mode enabled

Ok, I see. Just one other thing I wonder about. I have other scripts installed on the same server I hope disable safe_mode will not have those scripts stop working. Can disable safe_mode have any negativ impact on scripts you think?

I have send a pm with ftp info.

Thanks

That was easy - quotes in filenames, I renamed Fisherman's Wife to Fishermans wife and it works.

Of course after adding image to gallery you can add quotes to titles.

Aha ok.

But how about the picasso pictures. There should be no problems with the names there?

For example: this image (http://photogallerix.com/#/content/Pain ... 1953].JPG/) got thumbnail,

but this image (http://photogallerix.com/#/content/Pain ... 1931].JPG/) doesn't got a thumbnail

The name structure of the 2 images is in the same way, they just have different names.

Ehh

Now the start page shows thumbnails instead of the photoblinds and I haven't touch it. Something very strange is going on and I dont know what...

Pain did you do anything with the start page?

Anyway I am now trying to set back to photoblinds but nothing happens... Argggh.

Probably because safe mode is enable I get all these troubles... Dam I really need to disable it...

Any other suggestions why I get these troubles?

Ok I could finally change it back after some tryings saving over and over again it finally saved the sttings.

It seems like the script changed the style of start page automatically.
