Editing of languagefile has trouble with special characters

19 Dec 2008, 16:38

Hi there. Oh I found two bugs actually.

I made two new german language files today (I sent them over to Karl). I ended up editing the xml file directly because I stumbled over something strange, which happens when I edited the files through the imagevue admin tools:
everytime when you had a space followed by a special character (à¶à¤à¼ÃƒÅ¸...) it removed the space in front of the character. For example "fenster à¶ffnen" turns out "fensterà¶ffnen". Special characters with any other characters than space work fine. (i.e. "Galeriemenà¼").

Editing, saving and uploading the xml file works fine though. You just have to make sure not to edit/save it in the imagevue admin area anymore.

ANOTHER thing I noticed in 20081120 beta is that the imagebutton (the button on the image itself) for "Fullscreen Toggle" is not referenced in the language files, or at least not in the admin tool for language file editing. It comes out "undefined". The context menu item is WAD however.

Thanks,
Daniel

This is already fixef, and will be available in forthcoming release.

About fenster à¶ffnen, thanks for reporting, this is caused by php bug, and after adding a workaround it seems to be cured. Fix will be included in next release as always.
