Here the URL won't even work in Internet Explorer.

Firefox/flash seems to be misreading the domain. It seems to think that files being loaded are on another domain than itself because of the characters somehow.

There must be some articles on this on the internet, but to be honest, it's the first time I have seen a domain with localized characters.

It's not exactly our fault, its greek domain name conflicting with flash player it seems.

For instance here's how it look in safari/mac, fp 9:
https://www.photo.gallery/temp/greek.png

Note the url, it transformed to:
http://www.xn--mxaac9abwa3bff.com.gr/gallery

When I open it in ff3/mac, fp 9:
https://www.photo.gallery/temp/greekff.png

Magic, url is in greek again and gallery works.

If you rightclick on your flash and select [ About Flash Player ], it'll get to you adobe site:
http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/about/

Mine:
You have version 9,0,124,0 installed

Latest:
10.0.12.36

Maybe there is an update for your version already, because obviously it can work. Adobe updating Flash Player 10 quite often maybe they fixed it already. Its first time I see non-latin domain name myself actually.

I already have the version 10 installed on my pc,but it doesnt work either....

The major issue is that it must work in ff somehow.
Im already working on the solutions,if i ever find it you will be the first to know.

If you find any before me inform me please.

I think the solution here is to use latin domain names. I didn't even know you can reg domain name in national charset.

Hi,
I have the same problem with my V2 installation and my site name is not in greek.

As him in IE on winXP it works very well, If I open in Firefox 3 it stops with the rotating wheel and after a while it appears a warning from Firefox asking me if I wanto to stop a script that is blocking Firefox.

My site is www.gitiweb.com/gallery and has no strange caracter.

The funny thing is that if I open one of your demo site all is working on Firefox too.

Any Idea?

Thanks.

Sorry, this is an entirely different problem you have. The original topic gallery doesn't load because of complications with the letters in the domain name.

I checked your gallery - There is either some missing files, or some mix-up of two versions. Did you recently upgrade your gallery with a later release?

Yes pain bro you can now register any domain name you want in any language you desire. The fact is that you are not registrating the domain as you see it in your language but in punnycode. Trie registrating one domain in russian and you will get my point ;)

Yes I erased my old installation and uploaded a fresh one using the "content" folder I saved from the previous V2Beta (I think the one of october).
In IE6 is working, it work in Safari too on my macbook.

After reading this topic again I installed the flashtracer for firefox and one of the last lines say "Loading folder: imagevue.php?a=files&path=content/pictures1/"

Pictures1, is it the original folder comming with the distribution? I have no Picture1 folder in my content.

I erased the site many time and uploaded the update.

Is it because of the "old v2beta" content folder?

thanks

giotis,

There is something weird with your photos, perhaps permissions - I am not sure. Look at this photo:
http://www.gitiweb.com/gallery/content/ ... thouse.jpg

Check that link in both Internet Explorer and Firefox. It doesn't work in Firefox ... That's the same reason as to why the gallery doesn't load thumbnails/images in firefox. It's not something to do with the gallery.

As you can see here, the same image on our server works fine in Firefox:
https://www.photo.gallery/mygallery/cont ... thouse.jpg

I suggest you try to delete your current content folder, and upload the new one from the latest imagevue download.

There was some mixup with "pictures1" and "pictures2" in an earlir release. Folder "pictures1" has title "pictures 2" and folder "pictures2" has title "pictures 1". As you can see for yourself, you do have the folder "picture1" folder:
