At the moment the default size (if you want an image to fill the viewer is 640x360px as I recall. Perhaps a wide view or square viewing area? It could be like adding 1 additional row or column to the thumbs in order to make it simplified.

Atleast in the latest update we fixed so that images are displayed unrestricted . You can rest assured that some feature version will eventually be released with customizable thumbnails- size and area.

Very true, have yet to take advantage though!
