My attempt at a V2 setup- Photo gallery

Hi everybody!
First thanks to the imagevue team for the wonderful work they have done!
I am an amateur photographer, I take photos for fun, so here is my setup

LINK

I still have work to do- want to put swf background, which I suppose will be more flexible and can arrange more elements, have to tweak some colours...

I have a strange feeling that in Opera if you use the full screen button later gallery freezes and no buttons or whatever is active...

Best regards, G

Very nice! - I enjoyed your photos. I also liked the wide thumbnails, and nice to see the imagelayer come into good use hovering over your images.

The background style isn't my favorite although it works fine. I prefer more subtle abstract background.

Karl,
Thank you for the feedback!
The background is deffinitely something I will be working on.
Yes, the imagelayer works great.

Do you have any problems with Opera and full screen mode??

Tried it out now, and it goes fine into fullscreen mode, but for some reason the gallery looses any interactivity unless I 'escape' back into normal mode. I tried it out with another fullscreen app and the same happened.

Is that the same as you get?

Yes, in full mode you cannot do anything, I also tried it with other peoples galleries and it is the same... browser specific error??

I'm sorry to break into your topic, but what does the imagelayer option actually do?? It refers to shape.swf, which i can't find nor see what it does???

Feels like i asked a dumb question, but when i searched the forum it didn't come up with a answer....

The imagelayer setting can be used to load a file and superimpose it above the image being displayed. Notice in GeoPal's gallery, in the top left corner of every image, it says "GeoPal Studio Photography" with some rich typography. This is in fact not part of the image, but a SWF file he is loading and layering above the image. The benefit is that it creates a watermark/credits effect on images without actually having to apply that effect to all the images(Keeping them clean).

Great feature... thanks for the explanation. Some more questions; where does the file need to be located, and does it need to be a swf file?

Sorry to bother you

It can be SWF, PNG, GIF or JPG. It can also be located anywhere, just set your own path. For example "shape.swf" will look for the file in your gallery root folder. You may want to tuck it away in a custom folder on your gallery root "myfiles", and then the path would be "myfiles/shape.swf".

Hi,

i like your gallery personnalisation. How did you modify the color of the loader when the gallery is charging ?

Thanks
Anthony

Anthony,
Thank you, I think that color is connected to foreground color in the theme edit menu.

Now that I had some time, I did a re-design on the gallery and changed the concept totally as well as some of the content /updated/.
I got rid ot the grey background and put the logo on top center. The menu thus is "hidden". Still wondering if I need the large conrols over the thumbs on bottom but we will see :)
The background apart from the logo has some stripes on botton, more visible on bigger resolutions.
Hope you like it, thanks for reading :)
