Sorting Thumbnails using EXIF Date

I have recently purchased Imagevue and am unable to sort my thumbnails using the date the pictures were taken. The files all have EXIF information although there seems to be no provision to sort (ascending or descending) using the date the picture was taken. Please help!

Unfortunately as of now we dont have a way to do exif sort. But I believe there is a way to implement it some time in future.
There is file date sorting though, but ofcourse its not the same.

As a temporary solution maybe there is some utility which could timestamp files based on their exif date?

I'm a real fan of imagevue and I tell eveyone around me how powerful it is and how I love it but ... I must admit that, to my point of view and as a amateur-expert photographer, the lack of sort on Exif date is the main drawback of the product and I just can't understand this feature as not been added yet !

Really, at least for pictures gallery, sorting by date if the date isn't the one the picture was taken is ... well ... at least useless, but I would prefer naming this a non-sense ...

So, I decided, as pain said, to add a timestamp in the file name (by defining a naming rule in LigthRoom when I export a JPEG from a RAW) and use a nd (name descending) sort.

But I still hope this feature will be developped ASAP as I didn't have the will to rename all the pictures I uploaded yet (as I made links to many of them from blogs and photo dedicated forums)

You see, the issue isnt in adding that feature, but to make everything work fast. People here having issues with big galleries as it is. If we just add exif data sorting it gonna be a disaster for slower servers or the ones with lotsa visitors.

We have some plans to rethink whole caching system but not before we release stable version.

Thanks for theses precisions Nick.
I understand the sort can't be done dynamically for performance purpose, of course.
I thought about an extraction of the interesting data while importing the picture in imagevue, and store them in the folderdata.xml file for instance.
