3 questions before purchase

I am thinking about using Imagevuex to setup an online portfolio.

I have three questions:

1. Is it possible to create pages with imbedded Iframes?
I would need a way to build in our client server access from the page.

2. Do individual galleries support different media types, say some text pages, images, and flash videos? or does each gallery have to be restricted to a certain media type?

3. Can I replace The name of the main menu on the left from 'Gallery Menu' to something else, say the name of our studio, or an image?

Many thanks for a response,

#1 - Unfortunately, you can't use iframes in flash. You can only use basic html tags in the native gallery textpages. What exactly is your client server access? You can of course create external links, or even create custom SWF modules to be embedded into any textpage, although it may be tedious.

#2 - The entire gallery supports whatever media you want it to support. Say you upload an image, a video and a word doc, they will all display in that folder. Of course, you should keep different content types in separate folders ... Did that answer your question?

#3 - Yes, you can change all text/language items, including the "Gallery Menu" text ....

We use a poolar server, which is a custom setup server for project management. Since our webpage is not up at the moment, I have only setup a weblink to the server. Ideally I would have liked to have the server imbedded within an Iframe in our site.

Can otherwise a 'user' and 'password' page be setup in ImageVue, that would then open the serverpage with the values entered by our client?
If there is not other choice I can imagine we solve this with an external link.

Ok for behind the scenes so to speak, but I would like if possible, to have a gallery that display both SWF films, and images, mixed together.
Is this possible?

Otherwise, can certain images be setup so that, when you click on them, they don't return you to the gallery thumbnails, but rather open another page, which would contain the movie (and be in a separate folder)?

great to know, thanks

There are many ways to solve this - You can open a popup window from a textpage, or directly from the main menu. Or you can of course a new window altogether linked somewhere from the gallery. You could also create a SWF login module embedded into a textpage if you were ambitious.

That's not a problem - Just like this demo folder, there are several mixed media types:

You can't really have different behavior on different images. You can however easily create external links for some images, and display them below the image, or in the description, or have them triggered when clicking an imagebutton.

Can the Flash animations also have a thumnail? The only files that have a thumbnail in this example are some of the images.
Can a custom thumbnail be used otherwise, if Imagevue cannot generate a thumbnail for these itself?

Yes, you can create your own custom thumbnail "tn_filename.jpg". Unfortunately, imagevue can not automatically create thumbnails for SWF or FLV files, simply because the server can not handle it ... It requires a special module that most servers don't have.
