Hello.

I have found a bug and have found a way to reproduce it.

I have v2 beta and populated it with +- 2000 pictures where 1 folder containts about 500 pictures of them.

When I click the folder (from the main menu) the galery is show. Then, when I click on a picture the picture is enlarged and the thumbnails are visible at the bottom.

Now,when I click any other folder, while the thumbnails on the bottom are being loaded (takes a while with 500 pictures) I get the right page but the page get's overlayed with 4 or 5 boxes with the text 'JPG' in it.

I can do this over and over again, so I suppose it's quite easy to find and fix this bug. Hopefully before final release.

Is there going something like 'startfx=yes' from v1 in v2? (For any image on a textpage or just the "startpage"?)

Any idea's when the final version is supposed to come?

Just forgot to say: i'm using the latest v2 beta (i.e. the one that's available for download from my customers section)

Those images are displayed instead of missing thumbnails. If gallery couldn't create them for some images.

Open that dir in admin, and click 're-create missing thumbs' in problem folder, it will open new window with thumbnails which are missing.

If those 5 won't be re-created, I suggest that means that they are either somewhat broken or just too big to be processed on your site because of memory limit.

No, there are no missing thumbnails. I already did a completely new install and tried again, it certainly is a bug...

If I wait long enough before clikking "the other folder", long enough so all thumbnails are loaded in the thumbnail scroller at the bottom, there is no problem.

The problem only happens when clicking another folder while the thumbnailscroller at the bottom is busy loading...

And it happens quite easily when there are about 500 pictures in one folder as it takes a while te load them all...

Just for the record : I can reproduce this bug over and over again... It only happens when clicking another folder while the thumbnailscroller is still loading. If I wait until it's finished there is no problem at all.

With 500 pictures in 1 folder and a rather slow internet connection (4MBit/S) it takes about a minute to fully load. If i click another folder within that minute the weird things happen.

So Imagevue v2 beta has a bug here. When trying this locally on my LAN i can't reproduce it because the speed is too high and the thumbnailscroller is loaded before I can even click on another folder.

So i suppose the best/easiest way to reproduce this bug is by limitting your connection speed to say 4Mbit.

mjau-mjau, I can't seem to reproduce the problem on your demo gallery but there are less pictures there, maybe it's only happening when there are about 500 pictures or something?

I'm using the "imagevue v2 beta 20081017" release.
(I have already did a completely new install -> no success. Any idea what could be wrong?)

Well, I just installed/test the v2 version a couple of days ago and right after installing I already found this bug. So, i can't tell you if an earlier release has this same bug or not.

I could test an older version if you want me to try out. (Just tell me where to find an older version then)

( Also, there might be another bug but I can't tell how to reproduce it (yet). It seems a bit similar to this one. I have seen multiple times that while the thumbnailscroller is loading the same thumbnails (that are loading) were visible in the upper left corner. And it stays there. Didn't go away until I hit F5... )

I install the last version of v2 new beta (very nice) but i put too much photo and the gallery is very very slow.

The people go outside of web site

I make a test here:

usually with a good adsl we can wait almost 10 seconds and the people call me for say that website don't function!!!!!

It' s possible load only the first page of the gallery and not all gallery?
It's possible change the loading icon with a percentual because it's a big problem

I think you have a different problem. This topic isn't about speed of the gallery, its about some thumbnails displaying incorrectly. I noticed your server was a little inconsistent. At first, it took ages before the page loaded ... but now it loads in a few seconds. The script that sometimes seems to take time, is this: http://lnx.valeriaelle.com/website/?a=folders - You need to make sure you set permissions. Also, this script often takes time the first time after you made changes, because it needs to cache filecounts.

This is problem is certainly not because of internet download speed ... It is the server that is slow sometimes for some reason. I can't build a progress% loader because basically it just loads a small file. Its the server that is slow to create the file.

any idea if this problem I'm experiencing is only happening on my server and is a configuration issue, or do you think it's a bug to?

I'm pretty suze it's a bug because it only happens while the thumbnailscroller is loading, and it's not happening when I wait long enough (to let the thumbnailscroller finish it's job)
