Hi,

i uploaded images in differents folders, the upload is always "complete" for each, so it seems that all is ok, but sometimes, i have images which are KO (only 5 on 160 images) ???

Examples :

1. the thumbs is ko, but when i click on it, it seems ok :
http://img236.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... ot5kf2.jpg
http://img261.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... ot6fv9.jpg

2. the thumbs is not visible, but the final image is ok :
http://img236.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... ot7ct8.jpg
http://img236.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... ot8sv5.jpg

I tried to delete and upload again those images, but it's still the same problem.
I verified, i think i have enough space on my site (used 81%) : http://www.nature-sauvage.com/quota.cgi

Thanks for your help.
Anthony

KO? I believe thumbnails wasnt created for those files because of their size - like 1400x1000 px rainforest picture.

Hard to say more exact because you didnt provided link to your gallery.

Yes you're right, with an url its easier, sorry :
http://www.nature-sauvage.com/imagevue
I just tried to verify, and without doing anything, i don't understand why, all my thumbs are now ok ???

I don't think it is because of the resolution of the image (my images are all 800px max) ?

Hi,

Just started playing with the v2 and looks nice!

But... I also have issue creating thumbnails. My images are 1500*1000px or 1000x1500 px but when i try to create the thumbs, i just get the red cross...
test gallery: http://www.lowagie.be/thijs

My blog album (smaller images, 900*600 or 600*900) was created without any problem...

How can i fix this?

Update:When I manually create the thumb and add it in the folder or when i upload a smaller file to this folder, everything is working fine... But Imagevuex cannot create the thumbs for those pictures. Persmissions OK.
Images are 1000*1500 and between 100kb and 150kb/picture.

Are there any limitations on thumbnail creation?

Update 2: It looks that I cannot create thumbs when the filesize is larger than 120kb. Where can I change this limitation?

Update 3 => this is not the issue, when i upload a small image with large filesize (200kb) everything is working fine...

final update? => when size is larger than 1480*xxx or xxx*1480, the thumbs cannot be created?

What is wrong... or what can I do?

Regards,
Thijs

Yes, you're running out of memory trying to resize those pictures, you can see memory limit in diag page>php info. If you plan to resize pictures that big, contact your hosting provider and ask them to increase memory limit to like 32 or 64 megs for php.

It is common to limit at 8 or 16 mb on awerage hosting companies.

Thx for reply.

Just checked the memory and that will be the problem (only 8M)... crap... they'll never change it for me (site5.com)

But i already planned to move away from that hoster, so now it's the good moment.

It's actually very standard with these restrictions on commercial shared server hosting. You will have to request explicitly to make sure you can get more than the memory you have been provided.

Our own server has the exact same issue.

Must be some password someone has created, because I can see the file users.php is there...

Just delete the file imagevue/config/users.php and the login will be reset to admin/admin.

ok, so i deleted the file, and when i go on admin, it tells me to log as admin/admin, what i do. And then it create user.php file which is empty (0kb)???
I've deleted the file at this moment to let you try.

Another question, do you have an idea why the menu is ko (http://www.nature-sauvage.com/portfolio/) ?

Thanks
Anthony

I can't login to your site because the users.php is already there
http://www.nature-sauvage.com/portfolio ... ue/config/
As you can see, it was created "29-Oct-2008 20:15"

I don't understand what the issue is, you delete the file, and login as admin/admin - That's how its supposed to work, what's the problem? You can now go into "users" section from admin, and change the password ...

Regarding your menu, you seem to have an error:
http://www.nature-sauvage.com/portfolio/?a=folders

Did you delete all old files in the imagevue folder before you updated to latest release? Did you edit anything?

> For the menu, yes i've seen this error, and i don't understand why i have this, because i simply upload the update of imagevue in a new folder "portfolio" on my ftp (i still kept the oldest release : http://www.nature-sauvage.com/imagevue/).
I made no modification, except making 777chmode as it is described in the doc.

Maybe i'll wait for the next release ?

Am I right that after you login as admin/admin, gallery creates zero length users.php file and refuses to let you in after?

Try to delete this file http://www.nature-sauvage.com/portfolio ... erdata.xml , will it fix gallery frontend for you?

And everything broke when you upload latest beta? There is something wrong with saving files on your server, they are ending up with zero length, maybe you're out of disk quota?

Could you provide me with your ftp login please?

Hi Nick, you were totally right, that's exactly what happened !
And your conclusion was good, my quota was 100% full....

So i'll try to make the complete install after making some space (http://www.nature-sauvage.com/quota.cgi/) and i will let you know.

Thanks

It's now ok, it was simply a problem of space, thank you Nick and Karl.
