I know you can place multiple galleries inside one configuration, but can you install the software in multiple directories on one site for each user.

For example

site.com/user_1
site.com/user_2

so each user can have their own admin page etc, the site would be totally non-commercial and the users wouldnt be charged for the use of the site, its just for a few friends to each have thier own gallery space.

Would this require a license per user or just one license ?

This is fine to run few copies on single host, and not requiring additional licensing.
