Upload error on some servers. Report here.

On some servers SWF upload does not work, here's the description:

viewtopic.php?p=9793

After we replace it with usual input type="file" uploading works.
We tried to investigate and it might be something mod_security or mod_auth_passthrough/1.8 mod_log_bytes/1.2 mod_bwlimited/1.4 related.

To circumvent this there will be an option [x] Disable SWFUpload which will replace it with usual upload input. But, frankly, I feel its better to use ftp in this case.

Maybe we could have our own uploader in the future, now help us to track the cause of this bug.

If you have error with upload, please reply in this post with url to your gallery. And if you could PM ftp l/p that would help too.

Thank you.

Just installed the latest today and tried the upload. I am getting Error 403 and then the page refreshes and boots me back to the admin login page.

I have set permissions as outlined in the online documentation page for v2 beta quick start.

Please if you post in this topic, drop me a PM link bult with this template:

1. nickname on forum.
2. Url to gallery.
3. login/password to admin, there is a bug with login, but anyway.
4. FTP login password if you can.

We're trying to address this in next update or atleast provide some debugging.

As of now, we don't have fix for that, but for the unluckey we improved html uploader so now you can upload pics using it.

Frankly I'd vote for direct ftp upload over html if you have more than, say a dozen files, though. But oh well... We dont give up yet, just regroup.

I'd like to use the Backend Batch Uploader, but unfortunatley I cannot use it because of an Error 403! I followed Brodie's solution but anyhow it doesn't work.

Is there anybody who can give further Support? Do you need more information?

Thanks a lot

If those guys wont fix their uploader, we'll think of something else, I guess there wont be any changes in upload area before we release 2.0 :/

It's not because of servers configuration, it's because of lack support for some applications. I've checked and it works with Internet Explorer, but when trying to use this on my Mozilla Seamonkey, I'm getting a 403 Error!

Edit:

They updated recently swf upload script, perhaps it's solved now?

Finally it looks like we resolved this with YUI Uploader, check new script after update.

Hope YAHOO will stay afloat, look like they know their stuff.
