different music 2 different albums?

Question:

Yesterday I planned a private album, which will contain pics from vacation in Caribbean, Greece, Egypt.
Also some Kitesurf pics and party pics with friends.

So I searched a possibility to organize that with different music styles, but could not find a way to sort different audio files to different folders.

Did anybody think of this yet?

Karl,

This would go to my suggestion of being able to set more options on the folderdata.xml file. This file could, among other things, define:

- audio for album
- permissions
- first image to be displayed - also if image or thumbs
etc.

You have the use_imagefolder option, that allows you to place mp3 tracks inside the respective image folders, and have them play from there based on what folder is currently active.

Generally good idea, and no reason why we should not head that way. I think however first things first ...

I tried aleady in the beginning - was logical for me. But it did not work.
I could not move anymore the mp3 file somewhere else (because I tried to move it around) and it did not play anything. Just showed me the symbol.

I guess this possibility to organize music with impressions is a "must have" to present perfect.
Every perfect slideshow comes with well balanced music. So themes are in the right sourrounding and you get a deep impression.
e.g. You show an album from India (with indian music) and then you switch to Cuba. Indian music wont fit there at all.

Karl, It's not working for me

I have set the use_imagefolder option and can't get the mp3 tracks to load when placed inside respective image folders.

am I missing something here?

Just checked ... use_imagefolder does not seem to be working correctly. I will have it ironed out for next release.

HI!
That use_imagefolder option seems to be working, but I'd like to have some more infos about its working way.

I thought by checking it it would either play mp3 tracks included into image folder, OR if there isnt, play the mp3 folder.

It happens to work that way but when changing folder without mp3 included, it alternately stop/play depending on its previous state..

Is there a way to have mp3 folder being played as when the box use_imagefolder isnt checked so without reloading if no mp3 included in images folder, and then, when a folder accessed does include a mp3 the player change.
Right now it's just reloading for every folder.

Thanks

I just noticed use_imagefolder wasn't working as perhaps it should have been. Let me explain my idea, and please tell me if you agree.

If use_imagefolder is set to false, it will always trigger the specified mp3 folder of course. However, when use_imagefolder is set to true, it will always search current imagefolder for audiotracks, but if there are none, it will still play audio from the specified mp3 folder without interrupting.

Yep Karl that's what I thought and wanted.
Though I tried it and it doesnt...
Here are the facts so maybe I'm wrong, you'll tell me :
  • - I have my mp3 folder i use before, for all the site, with the option unchecked. That worked fine.
    - I decided to include special songs into 1 folder and check the option, while keeping the original mp3 one as before.
So, I thought, when people will come into this folder with mp3 the player will change to that special songs.
    - I run the gallery to test and here's what happen:
No music on start (so it doesnt check the mp3 folder)
When I open 1 of any folders without mp3 included it starts the player as usual, but everytime I change folder the player reloads and sometime stops...?
When I open the folder with its own mp3 the player reload with these songs : so it's ok.
The issue, so, is only about the usual mp3 attitude as soon as you check the option and add some mp3 into some folders.

Hope it's clear, so that you could run a test too.
Thanks

I ran a few more tests, and still the same.
When option checked, i aint got no audioplayer on loading gallery,
then, changing folder launchs the player,
re-changing folder stops and unlaunches player,
re-re-changing, re-launch player
& so on...

Only 1 point ok : when I'm entering folder that have its own mp3, the player launchs itself with the right playlist...

There is basically only one issue here:

When use_imagefolder = true, it always tries to load mp3 files from the specific imagefolder. If there are no tracks, then audioplayer is removed. It does not check any default mp3 folder ...

I will look into this ...

Hmmm... So how could you explain its behaviour unlaunching then launching then unlaunching an d so on at every folder change ?

Btw
However, when use_imagefolder is set to true, it will always search current imagefolder for audiotracks, but if there are none, it will still play audio from the specified mp3 folder without interrupting.
This sounds really good to me . If that could be done, it would be just great !

Dunno, but I suppose that is related - I will certainly look into it. I don't see why it shouldn't un-launch though ... If you have set use_imagefolder, it will obviously check each current imagefolder. If you navigate from one folder to another, it should either STOP the music(if there is no tracks in new folder) or PLAY a different range of tracks as available in the new folder. I don't see how any other behaviour is expected from this?

And I dunno too
Fact is if we embedded the option "use_imagefolder" we should add mp3 in every folders we want music to play, and no mp3 in mp3 folder.

I thought it could act like option unchecked (so playing music from general mp3 folder) unless it finds mp3 in an image folder and then plays these ones.
If no mp3 found, just keep on with the general mp3...
We'll see that later when you'd have some time to :)
