I use all the browsers, but to date, Google Chrome outstrips them all, second is Lunascape ( for me) The blazing speed doesn't come from the server, it comes from the browser's cache system... Chrome is an EXCELLENT example.. it makes a cache of a site at 1st visit, then subsequent visits go at lightning speed because it only has to look for new or updated content to adjust the cache.. my full resolution images ( for me...) maybe some are 4 Mbs in size load in less than 1 SECOND, and I don't use any special system, just a Samsung Q70 notebook... my host is very good with unlimited bandwidth, but all hosts are only as good as how quickly your browser reacts to the cache, and many other factors, like time-of-day, traffic, ISP and so forth... most of the time, don't change your host, change your browser !!!
Thats certainly true. I use Chrome myself. find it unparalleled.
But the initial load is exactly what I'm talking about. I'm a photographer, my last site got new content every week. (And the local grandparents who badger me to put photos up for the local community activities that I shoot mean I have to put those up too). Not to mention OF COURSE I stream some nice bg music.
Doesn't matter if my browser is good. You have to adjust your systems to work with the users/customers. They shouldn't have to get new browsers for my sake, it should load fast the first time. Which is what I'm looking for.
The www.photo.gallery demo sites load lightning fast, clear my cache or even open the site from a newly imaged computer from work, the images pop up quickly. right now I have 100k jpgs and they still lag loading in my eyes.
