Yes, we are thinking of integrating eCommerce to some extent in the next version of Imagevue. Primarily, I think it would be a basic paypal integration which would be relatively generic to connect to other payment services.

I do know there are special services for selling photos online ... If anyone has any further specific suggestions or requests in regards to integrating eCommerce, then we are more than happy to hear them!

I believe paypal allows you to add multiple items in the basic cart. It's primative, but it works.

Also... many photographers (like you mentioned) sell from sites like photoshelter, smugmug, and others.

A simple and elegant solution for them might be to allow users to specify e-commerce page URLs on an image by image basis linking to the corresponding e-commerce pages on those other sites -;)

..and also have the paypal option.

Thanks for your further suggestions on this - It will most likely be like this:

There will be a shopping cart function so that multiple items can be "added to cart" before "checkout". Since this requires some coordination with each specific payment processor, we will most likely build the default version towards paypal. Later on we can most likely modify the generic cart so that it works towards other payment processors also.

As for purchasing on an image-by-image basis, this will be a basic procedure where a specific payment link can be created for each image that goes towards the processor.

I expect that sooner or later some users may start to ask about having a system that, after purchase, provides the full-resolution photo to the buyer. This is currently relatively wide of our focus area, so it would have to be considered at a later point.
