Just to cut the chase here, I would have to say that this is slightly outside the scope of Imagevue. For a proper newsletter/mail-list system, you need a system tailor-made for this. They have PHP mailing-list systems, and they have online ones like http://www.mailchimp.com - This is nothing we would build from scratch into Imagevue, as it is way beyond what we are capable of managing.

We could of course tweak the interface so that it linked up towards a separate email/newsletter system. Eg. that the user "subscribes" through Imagevue, but that data is sent and managed through a separate system.

E-mail newsletter system can be quite heavy. They need a database, some functionality for managing the entries and templates for sending.

A simple solution would perhaps be to use the contactform so users can "subscribe" and then you can manually handle the incoming emails. For example add them to a system like mailchimp, or simply store them in a "group" in your email client ... You could simply email to an entire group from any modern client like outlook ...

Hi,

I'de like to get something like that on my website.
Ex : On my contact form page, getting a box with for ex "Subscribe to newsletter to get in touch" or something else. By the way, sending all the infos to Mailchimp and manage everything from over there.

Could you settle that please ?

You mean create an embedded newsletter subscribe system that connects to mailchimp and sends new users? Are you paying for mailchimp btw? We dont have many users on mailchimp, so would be a bit exclusive to assume people would use it. They probably have pre-made sign up solutions for their newsletters btw ... I think we might need to consider some optional newsletter solutions ...

Thanks for the reply.

I'd like to create "Newsletter" button in the menu bar like "About" or "Contact" and so on.
Inside this newsletter window, add a Textpage with a contact form especially made for newsletter (like the email one) with a "Your Name" field, an "your Email" field and "Subscribe" button.

I could use the email contact form but I don't want the "Comment" field.
More, if I use 2 built-in emails contact form (one for CONTACT and another one for NEWSLETTER) in the "ownerEmail", I can add multiple emails (ex contact@yourname.com ro newsletter@yourname.com). But I won't be able to customize to make it understand : use "contact@yourname.com" if some one fill the email contact form and use "newsletter@yourname.com" if some one fill the newsletter contact form. The message will be send to both adresses.

I'm working now on some newsletter system integrated with powerPack news module. I think within next 2 weeks I'll have some proggress with this
