When my site is open http://www.gprtech.co.uk and you choose to view http://imageshack.us/f/199/unled1uyn.jpg/ is there any other way of viewing photo's.

I am assuming you mean the size and aspect of the thumbnail preview images? If so, then yes there are several ways to format and size your thumbnails. We have documentation on these methods here:

In addition, there are some settings for changing the frame width and space between thumbnails. You need to edit your THEME settings to change these:
