A "particular gallery" do you mean a specific folder or what? So what happens when visitor clicks the folder, the menu disappears? How do they get back?

I assume you are doing this for a folder that goes out in a direct link? Then you may have to use a workaround and create a container document where a flashvar is set to not display the menu ...
