Imagevue and 360 tours swf files

26 Jul 2011, 08:10

Hello,

Imagevue plays 'regular' swf files fine in Flash view.
However, i am having trouble to play 360 swf videos, which are made using a so called Pano2VR panorama player.

In html view, these kind of videos are playing, but not in Flash view.
Can you recommend a solution ? Anyone made similar swf videos playing in Flash mode?

Pano2VR convert images into movies Flash v.9 (and above). Currently, Imagevue works in flash v.8. I think there is the problem...

Thx Artur for your reply.

Well, that is not so good. We purchased Imagevue because we tried the swf capabilities and this was one of the main reasons we purchased.

Is there a solution foreseen in near future?

Sorry for the late reply ...

Unfortunately, you can't just load any kinda SWF into Imagevue. In fact it is quite limited unfortunately because of technical issues with placement, actionscript compatibility and other technical issues. Imagevue is AS2.0, and if your panorama viewer is in AS2.0, then it should be possible to get it to work ... if not, then it is difficult.

An option may be to use the new lightbox window we will be releasing, which in effect has the option to open certain modules in an overlay windows. With this, you could open panorama viewers in a separate window although it will seem like it is simply overlaying Imagevue ...

I have also asked this question long time ago, exactly the same... I made my panos popup in a new window, the only solution I've found

Just as an example of how this may be improved ... Go to your admin/manage, click the "upload" button on the top right. This is a "Colorbox" dynamic overlay window ... Imagine your panorama file opening in a window like this overlaying the Imagevue gallery. I think not a bad compromise?

Not bad at all :)
Would this be a solution for 360 degree VR-panos?
And also for autoscrolling 360 degree cylindrical panos?

Imagevue 2.8 I assume, where we are also working on additional "Html" related stuff ... I can't give exact date, but more than a month, less than 3 ...

I don't think we will personally develop a module for displaying panoramas, but we will perhaps look into 3rd party solutions that can easily be integrated ...
