Download a PDF Download a ZIP file
I'd like to create a link on a text page that when clicked will allow the user to download a PDF file or a Zip file. I go to set this up and click "link" in the text page but t asks for a URL. My PDF and ZIP file are not URLs but are files on my server. How do I set it up so a user can download a PDF or ZIP file?

URL is what you would call a link to a file. So you can put /path/to/file.zip or http://server/path/file.pdf in the box.
As an option you can upload pdf and zip files in the gallery.

perhaps you could be more specific
as in give me an example of a specific accurately formatted file path
does it have to start with URL of http, or with "/" or with "ftp" or...
is it linked from the primary domain or a subdomain
please be specific as possible I ma used to being ablt o BROWSE and select a file when directing a file to be downloaded
and if I am off by a space the link is broken
also the Unlink does not seem to be working so it won't test accurately when troubeshooting

in other words, Fetch says that the file path I want to link to is:
ftp://serveradmin%40lovebrain.net:@love ... rchive.zip
how should I format this for your link-- have tried about 20 different ways, it is always broken

I am not quite sure why this is a problem. You can upload PDF into a folder just like any other image or file. The PDF file will then display as a thumbnail in the gallery where you uploaded it. When the visitor clicks this file, they will be prompted to download it ... That would be the link/path to your file, and there is no reason to create it manually.phall1 wrote:(sure would be nice just to be able to BROWSE to the file and select it
If you for some reason are adding a link to a PDF file in some other way, or to a textpage, then you may need the full link. This has nothing related to Imagevue, and basically works the same as if you uploaded an image, a doc, a video or anything at all.
If you upload the PDF file in a folder, the link would be simple: http://yourwebsite.com/foldername/ ... Not quite sure why you are wanting to use links to FTP.
