Hi all

I must say that I'm not using Imagevue yet.
I like the look and feel of Imagevue, but I still have some questions to make...
What I would like to do in my site, that will be completely private, is a user based access.
The admin is me, and only me. Only I can upload, edit, or change anything in the site.
User's would have the access level I choose for them.
Basically I would have two main areas, Friends and Family.
For most cases Friends do not have access or see Family photos, and vice-versa.
There will be some cases that some one would see more then one area.

The password option in the Imagevue, can (almost) do that. But I do not want the folder(s) to be even seen for the people who will not have access to them.
The hidden option, if I did understand it, would only be accessible via direct link, it would not be visible.
I would like all folders to be normally seen for the users that can see them, for the others they would not even appear...

Can Imagevue have this behaviour, with or without some customization?

What you are asking for would require the visitor to log in even before they click anything. How else would the menu be able to display private folders? This is currently not possible.

Imagevue has two ways to work with private folders, as you already seem to have understood:
A) Password protected folder
B) Hidden folder (only accessible by secret link)

Yes, that it.
The user should authenticate before any access.

Are in you plans developing a feature like this ?

And what about users who don't have any password? What will they enter into the password field? I think this will scare away users without a password. A better idea would perhaps be to have a "login" button somewhere ...

I agree to your suggestion, but we need to sort out the logic before we even consider it.

Hi again, and thanks for your attention, even for someone like me that didn't (yet) bought Imagevue

Well, it could be both ways..
Or a completely closed, then user must login to enter. Without login nothing
Or when the page open, it opens with guest user, it would only see what the guest user is assigned to see. After that, somewhere in the page, the user could make his personal login.

You can already create a "completely closed" Imagevue, by setting a password on the content folder. The password is prompted before the gallery is loaded, and only by entering correct password will the gallery continue to load. Incorrect login, and nothing displays.

It would require some "login" button for the user to be able to log in and see a different menu with protected items.
