is it possible to have toggle play in image buttons? why not just put main controls in images/text page & thumbnails?

You can in fact add toggleplay to the image buttons, but this will require a custom edit. Open the file iv-includes/include/config.xml, and locate the node:
Add the "toggleplay" value in the options array, like this:
Now, from your settings, you can add toggleplay to imagebuttons.

the play button is added, but it is always on pause, the sign (||) it does not toggle the button. But it plays and pauses, that works.

Yes it is related, because it is about the toggleplay button as image->imagebuttons->toggleplay
This button does not change, but the button works.

When you hover over the image there the imagebuttons appear, and you can see the button stays the same...

right ... I thought you were just speaking of the toggle-play button in general. May I ask: Have you disabled your main controls now that you have toggle play in the image buttons? I would question the usability of having a play button appear on image rollover, instead of simply having it globally available for example stacked on one of the sides or in one of the corners. https://d.pr/AMV0
