04 Dec 2009, 14:50

I'm looking for an international architecture job. Here is a link to my portfolio.

Right now, I'm spending my time expanding my portfolio and looking for job opportunities in Seoul, Korea. Currently, I'm teaching English here for another 6 months. Please check out my portfolio. If you have any comments on my work, any ideas how to customize and setup my gallery, or any job hunting tips PLEASE let me know! Cheers.

Your gallery looks stylish, and I'm sure your skills will land you a job based on your portfolio content. I have some suggestions however:

# On your startpage you have some random-image settings I think? Some of the images are good, but others give the impression this is some "hobby"-page ... I suggest you simply find a GOOD few selected pictures to add here, from your portfolio. Nothing wrong with the picture of you of course, but potential employers dont have much patience and just want to see something you did, so show em! You have another image here with a plane flying over some water with buildings in background - The image is good, but why so many JPG compression artifacts? This image should be in high quality to give the visitor a good first-impression. Also, I found some more impressind imgaes in your portfolio sections ...

# You should perhaps re-organize your main menu a little. "Welcome" should perhaps be renamed to "About me", and the existing "About me" should perhaps be "Bio" or something ... Why call this folder "welcome" if its not the welcome page. Also, I would move all personal pictures from startpage under this section somehow. Your main welcome page does look nice though! I would perhaps consider removing "contact" to under "About me", just to make the menu slimmer ...

# Perhaps consider putting "renderings", "sketches" and "photography" under a main folder "Portfolio"? Might make the menu more consistent.

Just my 2 cents - Looks good anyway!

Wow!! Thank you for your feedback! These are perhaps the most useful comments I have received yet. I will need to think about these and write a more in depth reply. Much thanks.

Eric... Sorry to poke the proverbial nose.... Have you thought of China??? I could PROBABLY get you a good English teaching job in Chengdu, in that wonderful, laid-back city in Sichuan province. I couldn't access your website, so didn't get a look at your "profile"...
