EXIF not showing

11 Nov 2009, 17:35

Ok, so i have been reading several topics to find a solution with no success.

Issue:
Although i have enabled EXIF in text1, text2 and text3 (just for testing in all of them) it does not display exif anywhere. Here's an example link of my first test gallery.

Additional information:
- EXIF extension is enabled on my host and also displays "checked" (green) on the diagnosis page
- EXIF is enabled in all of the text fields (settings->image.text.text*) - all text fields are also set to "enabled" themselves. They do display all the info (e.g. filesize in text1) except EXIF data
- i tried enabling error_reporting in the common includes file, but no error is being displayed
- the images in the test gallery do have EXIF data. You will also be able to check when downloading the image.

What am i missing? Using imagevuex2.1.5_25092009 by the way.

Also, using Mac OS X 10.6 / Firefox and Safari as client - if it is of any importance

Your server php might not be compiled with EXIF extension. Ask the admin. It was the reason for me at least. Also, you are sure you haven't accidently ripped off the exif out of the photos when resizing etc..?

GeoPal,

At first i wanted to complain that i ruled all these points already out in the beginning, however, it might really be a problem of me ripping of EXIF information.

Now i have the following problem:
- i am downloading the image (from my imagevue gallery) to my mac, display file info and i am able to see the focal length, aperture, shutter etc. However, this information appears not to come from EXIF as ..
- when i download them on my windows pc and try to display EXIF via picasa, i do not get anything.

Can anyone (or even you) try to download the image from the link in my first post and tell me, if it has EXIF for you?

Thanks :-)

I have verified the image again on a third workstation and apparently the EXIF is not there. Thank you GeoPal. This is what i get for not checking my problems twice.

Later I will try to find out two things:
- where in my workflow i am loosing the EXIF
- how MacOS knows anyway which camera settings were used (maybe cached somewhere)

Consider this topic closed for now.
