I am thinking of running an additional piece of software on the same server as 'Imagevue' and it requires 'safe mode' to be on, will this have an adverse effect on the smooth running of Imagevue?
Is therr a 'work around'.

As far as I know, this depends slightly on the server, but with safe_mode ON, you are running the risk of Imagevue admin not being able to write to files and folders. So what does this mean? It means you might not be able to manage your gallery properly from the admin interface.
It should not affect the frontend gallery in any way though, as long as thumbnails are created.

Interesting software you have, safe_mode is deprecated setting and will be removed in next php version. Actually if you are going to upload images using Imagevue Control Panel then you should be ok. Safe_mode just blocks access to files which been for example uploaded by ftp, but again if you change permissions should be ok i think.
