Admin slow

18 Oct 2009, 13:30

HI. New to this so bear with me.
Running Imagevue under XAMPP web server which I host on my own PC.
All set up, no problem and localhost points to the admin page no problem.
I have thousands of photos in the content folder.
When I log on to admin nothing happens. It says still waiting for index.php but it is takin ages to do anything.
Is this because it is still churning through all my folders and sub folders of photos or is there something else wrong.

Also do not appear to be able to change the password. When I hit change password the browser page goes blank and takes me nowhere

HELP PLEASE !!! ??? :D

Hard to tell exactly, how fast is your pc? Splitting pictures in more folders might help. Also try to increase memory limit to like 256 or 512 megs in php.ini.

64 bit quad core 2.6gHz with 8gb RAM
I have increased memoray in php.ini to 1024mb to see what happens
Odd thing is, the older version of imagevue seems to work fine and I have created all the thumbnails etc in that. Is it worth me sticking with that or is the upgrade "unmissable"?
Thanks for your help

Actually it's supposed to works faster and faster with each new version. You say it got slower after upgrade or after you thousands of photos?

Could you please describe your general configuration and folders layout?

It works fine on old version. If I install new version it hangs when trying to get at the admin page, it is looking for index.php and the meter runs across the page at the bottom but nothing ever opens so I am left with a blank page

I have tried running the admin page with no content in the content folder and still I cannot get to the admin page. The page keeps trying to load index.php to no avail

Ha, seem to have sorted it. Mt fault. Put the files into htdocs folder not imagevue folder. Stupid error
