I'm afraid that simply is not possible. This is because the filemod feature is generally separate from the gallery itself - It simply displays the heading for the filemod, while a separate mini-slideshow script handles the mechanis for the internal slideshow.

We hope to have some method to do this in a later update. This would be by using the normal slideshow gallery function, but specific folder functions to start in image/slideshow-mode, and without controls and thumbnailscroller.
