Re: latest update

02 May 2009, 16:16

Hi Guys

thanks for the latest update though i have a couple of questions regarding features.....

1) it was my understanding that there where plans for an alternative way to order images (ie not using 0001 0002 0003 and so on) is there still plans for this in a later release?

2) in the new admin console is there anyway to revert back to the previous fonts and colours, ive tested it on 3 monitors and the font barly readable especially in the image descriptions, so much so im not going to be applying this update as i can see issues being mention from the people that use it.....

sorry to be negative but just so ya all know i still love the software (and im sure i speak for everyone else on here with that one :D )

cant wait to here you thoughts......
things are not as they appear, nor are they otherwise

Sorry, manual sorting didnt fit, otherwise it would be delayed for another week or so and we said April already.

Can you decypher 'barely readable' ?

Perhaps you can inform us of your operating system and browser? a snapshot would be nice also ...

We mainly changed color of the font, but it is the same font. We may have changed size a few places ...

Just let me explain WHY the fonts were changed in the first place. The original font, is Candara, which is a font that came with VISTA and Office2007. Unfortunately, this font does not look too good on non-windows machines, and many computers don't even have it(including XP, unles you have office installed)! So when this font switches to another font, it will look to big also, because of the nature of size-requirement for Candara.

With this, I would like to notify you that we may well be looking to change this in a future release, but we will see whats gives the best overall balance. Of course, you can always set your own font at anytime also by simply editing the CSS file for the admin.

Not quite sure what you mean "pole" ...

The reason custom sorting is a little slow to arrive, is because it is very unattached to general logic of the system. Since imagevue is a realtime file-system, it simply reads images from a folder and can output based on name or date. To add custom sorting, we need to store IDs in an XML file. Also, this feature would require DHTML/AJAX, which is what we are aiming for in a global approach to a more functional admin. Rest assured it is high priority on the list ...
