The emailtest.php script works (i changed the email address to mine and i got the email fine, but the contact form still does not send me the email for some reason. I have all the necessary settings correct in the admin.
Any ideas what else I can try?

The best thing you can do is to investigate your mail filtrage once again, because I assure you mail is being sent and deliverable:
