It appears that the imagebuttoms have a higher layer than then thumbnail scroller, so if you position the imagebuttoms at the bottom of the image they sit "above" the thumbnail scroller when displayed.

Actually, I think the thumbnail scroller should be above everything else. The thumbnail scroller hides automatically so when a user wants to view thumbnails there is an action that needs to happen and they really can't view thumbnails and use the imagebuttons and main controls. Just my two cents.

For what it's worth, the configuration that I was trying to use was to have the imagebuttons aligned bottom left and the main controls aligned bottom right. When I activated the thumbnail scroller the maincontrols were hidden (because they were below the thumbnails), although the imagebuttons hovered above the thumbnails.

Of course, best is if there is no overlaying like in the default configs ...

I agree with that completely, although it ends up looking really neat if you do overlay. I figure that if someone is using the thumbnail scroller, why would they also use the other controls at the same time. Technically they couldn't because as soon as they leave the thumbnail area it will minimize...

How about add a z-layer attribute for each of the controls???

It's not configured this way now because of the imagebuttons, but here is what I had:

The thumbnailscroller was set to autohide with a height configured large enough to almost touch the top of an image. The controls were set to remain visible as you said. When moving the mouse down toward to the thumbnailscroller it would activate and cover the maincontrols, which is the feature I wanted, although not cover the imagebuttons.

I just recreated this on my site for you to see what this crazy guy is talking about! It's crude as I didn't worry about making opacity match, etc, but I think it will make more sense visually then textually. Do you still have my site information I sent via PM a few days ago?

If anything, I would want the imagebuttons to be below the thumbnailscroller also ...

On a side note, even though the thumbnailscroller is above the maincontrols, the maincontrols still "click" when you hover over where they would be located if not hidden...
