admin menus won't expand

15 Oct 2008, 19:40

brand new user, just bought the package.

From what I've been reading it seems to make the most sense to install V2 with the most current release rather than V1, correct?

Anyway, after installing V2, and logging in. I'm seeing a "page done, but with errors" notice at the bottom of the browser. (Vista, IE7)

None of the admin menus in the "config" section will expand when you click on the plus signs or title text, however the button to "expand all" does work.

Clicking on the error in the browser info bar yields the following information:

Line: 180
Char: 35
Error: Expected identifier
Code: 0
URL: http://(mysiteURL)/gallery2/imagevue/index.php?c=config

Strange, do you have a link to your gallery? Post private if you like ...

more info

16 Oct 2008, 09:36

after following up on this some more it appears to be an IE issue.

I've tested it on three machines:

Vista IE7
XP IE7
XP IE8

and all experience the same problem.

I also tested it with:

XP and Firefox2 and 3 and it works perfectly.

After a bit of web searching, it seems it might (and I'm only guessing here) be something with the javascript. Apparently IE is more strict about code adhering to the spec than the other browsers. So it's probably something small that really doesn't affect the functionality, but is causing IE to reject it.

safari admin expand issues

20 Oct 2008, 20:34

safari (3.1.2) will either let me expand all or none... can't expand individual sections...

shame as safari has useful clear cache shortcut ....

firefox 3 is all good (but no clear cache shortcut!)

They fixed this already with a mini-update. Just download imagevuex again and re-upload.

Works in Safari 3.1.2

Luck!

There is a "clear cache" button extension for firefox here which I use myself:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1801

Just to make another thing clear - "Clear cache" in the admin is not the same as clearing cache in your browser. In admin, it takes care of recreating the image- and folder counts after updating with new folders- or images.
