SWF - Manual Thumbnails

14 Sep 2008, 23:28

Hi,

We are building a gallery that works better with SWF due to scalability of the images. Is it possible to manually create thumbnails for the SWF instead of having the generic SWF Thumbnail as it is now in V2?

Thanks for the heads up. I will look forward to the next V2 release so I can create some custom thumbnails.

Can I just ask what you meant by "We are building a gallery that works better with SWF due to scalability of the images"?

Hi Karl,

Maybe it is easier just to see it.

My images are 1024x768. I know that is large and will get scaled down on most peoples screens, but it scales nice with SWF because the images are vector drawings. For those in the world that have large screens, it will look extremely nice. I added a .gif version of the first drawing, and a .png of the second drawing so you can notice the quality difference when it comes to scaling.

Many more to come. Many more.

Now you can see why I want a bubble pop up when mousing over the hotspots. I would like to have a bubble that shows the part code.

If it is possible, what are the odds of having implementation of custom thumbnails for SWF files.

Here is something interesting about SWF thumbnails.

The scrollbar in the main controls is looking for tn_swffilename.jpg

Here is a screengrab showing it works if you have a .jpg thumbnail in the appropriate place.

Here is a screengrab of the Activity Window showing V2 looking for the files, but throwing an error if they are not found.

Thanks for the observation ... Shortly, all thumbnails will be loaded from server, so you can change them yourself. Admin will create default thumbnails for generic filetypes.
