Hi,

we have hidden the image titles/captions, and they have no "real" titles just 6126735.jpg and so on..

Is it for Google optimization better to give them real titles although they are hidden?

and/or

is it (much) better for google optimization to give real titles and unhide these?

thx for a hint!

It is normal to not use NAMES for images ... Even Picasa, Flickr and Facebook use ID's as image names.

To be honest, I am not quite sure how Google ranks images ... It certainly will find your images, no matter if you change the name or not. I don't think it makes much difference if you change names/titles ... Google will likely validate all images before it lists them in search. Furthermore, I think the chance of your images displaying in Google search (amongst a zillion others) is near-zero.

Just an example: When I search "bluebird", Google shows me the below image, with name main-qimg-3aa3869d8a8cb4cf4fbd4e231a0794fe-c. Cleary Google doesn't put much weight on the image name.
