It is normal to not use NAMES for images ... Even Picasa, Flickr and Facebook use ID's as image names.
Is it for Google optimization better to give them real titles although they are hidden?

is it (much) better for google optimization to give real titles and unhide these?
To be honest, I am not quite sure how Google ranks images ... It certainly will find your images, no matter if you change the name or not. I don't think it makes much difference if you change names/titles ... Google will likely validate all images before it lists them in search. Furthermore, I think the chance of your images displaying in Google search (amongst a zillion others) is near-zero.
Just an example: When I search "bluebird", Google shows me the below image, with name
main-qimg-3aa3869d8a8cb4cf4fbd4e231a0794fe-c. Cleary Google doesn't put much weight on the image name.
