I'm stuck, please help. I can't find a proper setting to display content in split layout.
What you see is description http://promax.net.pl/mr/imgx3/places/ and it's all I achieved.

X3 FOLDERS layout can display title, description and amount of each folder, but not the "content" of the folder itself. I see your page is already displaying title, description and amount of the folders.

My goal is: when someone click "gallery" in main menu, the list of folders displays in split vertical layout with picture previews to the left, and with extended text to the right.
So how then achieve layout like this one from https://demo.photo.gallery/examples/features/sample/
"two column grid"?

Isn't this what you already have? Preview image to the left, and folder title-, description- and amount to the right.

Why not just add more text into each page DESCRIPTION? The folders-module does not support displaying the actual "content" of each page.

Yes this is also a two-column grid. But this entire page is just custom CONTENT added from the page -> content tab. It's not listing neither folders or images.
