Hello,

Just to clarify what my current situation is: I use the index folder to list the latest photos on my home page, which I load into my gallery folder. I always load the photos into my gallery folders first and label them. If this works, I copy the photos to the index so that they are also listed on the start page with the latest photos. At some point, I then delete the older photos in the index, while they remain in the gallery. So far this works well. 

I have now expanded a gallery a little. For my astronomical photos, I would like to work with several photos per shot and a bit more text. That's why I no longer load the photos into the gallery, but create a folder for each photo, in which I then insert the corresponding photos and graphics. It looks like this: https://www.linsenschuss.de/galerie/astrofotografie/

If you now click on one of the images, you will be taken to the actual image, as well as further information. I like the way it is structured. 

Now my question is, how can I solve this with my index folder? I would also like to list new photos on my start page. But if I copy the folder into the index instead of the photo as before, it doesn't work. 

Is there perhaps a solution here? Or can I load a photo into the index as usual and link it to the respective folder in the gallery?

I hope I was able to explain my somewhat complex situation well.

This would be the most likely solution. Add the images you want to the index folder, and then LINK them to the specific page you have created for that image in the original location.

The other option would be to assign /galerie/astrofotografie/ as ASSETS for the index page under FOLDER settings, but then it would display all the folders in "astrofotografie" in the index page.

Thanks Karl, i think the solution with adding a link to a image that follows to the folder is good.

in this case, i have another question about folder in folder. I now try to use folders but also the gallery for individual photos that do not need a larger description. It currently looks like this: https://www.linsenschuss.de/galerie/astrofotografie/

The folders are listed at the top, the gallery images at the bottom. 

I assume that doesn't work, but I'll ask anyway. Is there any way to set the folder “astrofotografie” so that images in the gallery and the folders are treated the same way? For example, if I sort the contents of the “astrofotografie” folder by date, so that the gallery and folders are mixed and listed in date order? And not like now, first the folders, and afterwards the gallery content?

Sorry, that doesn't work. "Gallery" and "Folders" are two separate modules, rendered separately into their own elements. They can't be mixed. Normally, this would be confusing, although under certain conditions I guess it could work.
