Slideshow and video one after the other on the start page

Is there a possibility to play e.g. 4 or 5 pictures as an intro on the start page via slideshow, and to run an intro video directly afterwards?

In other words, combine image slideshow and video intro?
I only manage to show the video at the top, and when I scroll down, the slideshow is shown...

I can't help you with a solution, but from a visitor's view I would say: Don't bother. There are probably extremely few people that won't scroll down before the video even starts.

I know that this should not be switched on permanently - but on certain days, e.g. Earthnight - and then deactivate the scroll function for a day.

There would be a few pictures as a slideshow with introductory text, followed by the video.

I could cut a whole video together like this - but I would like to have the freedom to decouple the images with the introduction from the video - so that I can combine this combination in other ways with little effort, for other daily events!

Unfortunately, there is no integrated "slideshow" mechanism that will play video.

You could use the content "carousel plugin", which basically creates a slideshow from whatever html you put into it.

However, it seems a bit tedious to mix media like this into a slideshow. What size will your images be and what size will your video be? They would need to be the exact same size, else the area will scale between slides. Then this needs to be taken into consideration for mobile devices as the screen width scales down. Also, the video will only autoplay in browser if it doesn't contain audio.

Maybe I'll just make a fixed start page for 24 hours for these cases, with a simply embedded You Tube video, we'll see :-)
I think I'll solve this in a fundamentally different way - I got a bit stuck on this idea yesterday ^^
