pictures NAMES and TITLES

23 Nov 2023, 10:56

https://www.mikeletron.com/
I'm very confused about naming and titling of the pictures:
in a first gallery (paintings) the file's names appaeared as titles of the pictures, natively without asking.
so setting up the second gallery (mixed techniques)  I renamed every picture to have a better title
but the names remained empty (?) I didn't change nothing in the meanwhile and I can't find a
single parameter of difference.
Furthermore, is it possible to rename the uploaded files or I must rename them on the pc and then upload them again?
Thank you in advence

In the Settings > Gallery tab, scroll down to Captions. In your paintings gallery under Inline Caption there's probably two items: Preview and Title. I assume in your second gallery the "Title" item is missing.
Furthermore, is it possible to rename the uploaded files
Go to the Gallery tab (not Settings > Gallery). Use the second button to change the view until you have a list of the images (instead of thumbnails).
If you hover over an image in the list, there's a little wrench icon on the right that gives you options, one of them is renaming.

Ok, solved, thank you very much, just a little more question: where can I write a description?
And also how can I change the padding / distance from one image to the other?

When you cycle through the different views in the Gallery tab, there is one with fields for title, description etc.

This might be slightly different for different gallery layouts. Generally speaking the options are under Settings > Gallery. For the Grid layout you can find the spacing here:

I really do not understand what you mean with:
"When you cycle through the different views in the Gallery tab"
can you send me a screenshot as I still can't find the field for the descriptions
Thanks in advance.

In the screenshots in my first answer is a button marked by a green circle. Click that repeatedly and you will switch between all the different views. (The icon on the button also changes with the view, so if you look for it for the first time it might show something different than in my screenshot.)
