for some reason, FB seems to do two things :

a link that looks like this: https://joseph-balson.com/Gear-Essays/S ... e-1c5LAJZ0
- ends in 404 error


a link that looks like this: https://www.joseph-balson.com/Gear-Essa ... hrs1ekSdcM
- works correctly

seems the issue is the / before ?. Maybe something can be done in the htaccess to fix that? 

Yes it's definitely the slash/ which should always be there to conclude the end of the URL and to delimit the actual "page" path, which must be extracted by X3.

May I ask how you shared that link (without slash) on Facebook? Even when you load a page without slash in X3 like /Gear-Essays/Shooting-the-Nikon-D2Xs-in-2021, it will redirect to /Gear-Essays/Shooting-the-Nikon-D2Xs-in-2021/ with slash. When I try to share your link on Facebook with X3 sharing options, the url with slash definitely gets shared and I'm not sure how you managed to share non-slash url in the first place. In short, the non-slash url will work, but not if appended to with ?query parameters.

I have no idea either. At first the link worked, and the next day, there was no photo preview on FB.
