Preventing access to specific folder(s)

26 Jan 2025, 07:02

Hello, Karl,

I know how to protect galleries (folders) by creating users with passwords, and then assigning those users to specific galleries, so when the public accesses my X3 sites, they have access to all galleries EXCEPT those specific galleries that are protected.

Now, my question here is, for my X3 sites that are globally protected (so that only users with a username/password have access to those specific X3 sites), am I able to additionally deny those same users from accessing specific galleries?

The only way that I can think of accomplishing this, is to individually grant access to those users to each & every individual gallery on that X3 site, and not grant them access to specific galleries that I don't want them to have access to.  However, with hundreds of galleries....  :disappointed:.

Is there another way that I can accomplish this?  Most-likely not, but I thought I would ask.

Thanks in advance & have a great day.

Regards,
John

Yes, you can protect a specific path /subdir/, and then only the users that have access to that dir (none by default) will be able to view it.
