So finally I am adding my photography website to the list.

It is available at http://photo.lebl.cz

As Karl wrote somewhere, it was actually better to start building the site from scratch than using the X2=>X3 upgrade script - btw thank you for it Karl, I tried it, it worked, but this way round I changed some things.

Love your new X3! A really nice demonstration of the sidebar-layout. That Titillium font looks great, especially on the black background with the "crimson" red.

The "preload" feature is also working really well, with pages displaying instantaneously when clicked. The entire website data-object loads in to browser at only ~10kb (compressed from 100 kb), and takes only a few hundred milliseconds to load:

First of all thanks Karl, I really like this version very much. Still a work in progress and tweaking here and there.

You did a great job!

Good job!

A minor suggestion: You should set a "narrower" width for the context module of NEWS and BLOGS pages. Text-only should be limited in width for comfortable reading for the visitor.

Instead of this:

You would have this:

Also, when adding a preview-image like you have done in the Nikon_d500 page ... Instead of adding the image manually to content, try adding it as the preview image, by adding the [preview] tag to the page context settings:

This will automatically add it for you, it will look a bit nicer, and is the recommended method for a standard blog-post.

mjau-mjau wrote: If I was to suggest some minor adjustments, I would perhaps go for a "narrow" layout-width for pages "about" and "contact", and perhaps switch the columns on the contact page. It would look something like this:
Wow! Karl, that is a big difference the way I look at it now... you are right (as always :P) it is more pleasing to the eyes. I didn't realize that. I thought it is much better to have a uniform sizes on all pages but yeah big difference.

Also, do you really need the "home" button in the main menu? Most visitors will click the logo if they want to get back to the home page. The more you can shave off the menu, the more intuitive it becomes.
HOME button is now removed. Thanks for the tip.

You have recently upgraded from an earlier beta version? It seems you may be missing the folder /content/custom/favicon/. Check the download X3 zip, and make sure this folder is in you content/custom/ folder. It contains the favicon, which you can customize.
I didn't noticed that. Will check later on.
Lastly, I noticed your website works for both http://larryanda.com.au AND http://www.larryanda.com.au. It is recommended that you choose one to use (and promote), and redirect one to the other. From the perspective of the internet (google, seo, etc), it considers them two separate websites, and you will have issues with "canonical" links, since you basically have two links for each page.

Gotcha! I permanently redirected www. to non www via Cpanel on my website then I deleted the entry for www parts on my website.

Nice, clean and fast, with a refreshing, playful header font! Compliments to the awesome photography also.

The only thing I can comment on, is the "Private" menu item, which is showing an empty dropdown.
Image
Seems there is an issue where you have perhaps hidden all child items? You can go to the "Private" page settings -> menu, and check "Hide child pages from menu". This should prevent it from behaving like a dropdown.

Ok, but why are posting all these questions in our "X3 Showcase" thread? Your questions are entirely unrelated, and require long answers. Please post in a separate new thread, clearly stating your questions, and I will answer ASAP.

Hi All, Thought I would share my X3 with you all. I previously was using X2 of which I was happy with but, this version is by far superior in my mind.
It is now finished and am very pleased with how it looks and works. Though any little glitches found please let me know...
I must say a big thank you to Karl for his support & understanding with my requests.
