Is it possible to hide folders from menu for users that do not have access to them ?

Sorry, this is not currently a feature. Because of various reasons (including caching) the main MENU output is always the SAME, regardless of logged-in USER and if any of the items are protected.

Would it be an idea to HIDE your protected folder(s) so they don't appear in the menu in the first place?

I can see how this could be useful. I will think about how it might be solved.
