I just removed the flag global setting for EXIF data -> "To enable/disable EXIF, simply enable settings › popup › caption fields › EXIF"
This appears to all newly created albums, but I'd like to inherit to all existing albums, without going into every album and deselect the EXIF flag, is that possible?

It should work like this by default. The exception would be if you earlier on have specifically enabled EXIF for each and every one of those directories that still show EXIF, in which case the page setting will trump the global setting. Perhaps you have a link to one dir with and one dir without exif just so I can confirm the case?
