Automatic Name And description for uploaded images.

02 Mar 2016, 07:27

As it is possible in Settings section adjust default page description - it will be a great thing to add in each created gallery option, to set default photo name and description .
I mean not one name and description template for all galleries - i'm talking about possibility to create photo name and description template for each gallery separatly.
For example i have gallery LOVE STORY
It will save a lot of time for me when i upload photos - they will be automatically named and described by template.

You mean you want to set a DEFAULT image title- and description from the folder? In which case all images in the folder would display the SAME title- and description?

Yes i mean exactly what You wrote in reply.
In most cases when You are photographer and not web master ( i'm Photographer ) You have not so much time to play with different image names and descriptions for each image.
In many cases if i upload image for examaple to the "weddings's" gallery, is more than enough if images will be automatically named

and got description:

So in this case it will be great to have this functionality.

I can add this. In fact, I propose something this:

1. Default image TITLE and DESCRIPTION in global settings.
2. Default image TITLE and DESCRIPTION in page settings.
3. Image TITLE and DESCRIPTION for separate images (already exists).

#1 Sets titles and description for ALL images in the website (empty by default obviously). #2, if populated, will overwrite #1 and set titles and descriptions for all images inside the current page/folder. Unique image titles- and descriptions (if set) from #3 will overwrite all defaults.

This is quite cool, because from next release, it will for example allow you to create dynamic links like <a href="somecart/?{{image_name}}">Buy now</a>. You would only need to add this to the default page description, and then each image would have show the link with a different link rendered dynamically.

Code
1. Default image TITLE and DESCRIPTION in global settings.
I think it will be not so useful - because it is global
BUT !!!
2. Default image TITLE and DESCRIPTION in page settings.
This will be really great !!!

I'm a photographer too.

I have set in Lightroom descriptions and tag the Picture.
In the new release was implemented the function to set automatically with this Entries?

That was wonderfull!

Thanks

This is not related to the topic in question, but YES it should use your title/description tags from the image meta (IPTC) if populated. Did you check?

Just to clear and possible misunderstandings: X3 ALREADY supports title/description from image meta tags set in Lightroom ... Next release will be in 1-2 weeks.
