Display GPS on Map

20 Nov 2014, 03:26

A feature I love in X2 is the map which displays where the photo has been taken. I would love to see this feature in a later version of X3 too. OpenStreetMaps instead of GoogleMaps would be a nice option for this feature.

Yes. Thanks for adding to feature requests.

Would you like to see this feature in a similar way as x2, where the map opens in a small popup overlay? Also, why do you prefer openstreetmaps if I may ask?

When I currently click on "next", the image does like a 'flip' to the next one. As if I would turn the image. I think this effect could be used to show the map 'on the back' of an image. Speaking figuratively, the map would appear to be on the back of a postcard and a button would simply flip the card.

I heard that Google has some restrictions when it comes to the amount of visits and that it is not always free to use. I might be wrong, of course, but if that's true, I would suggest to offer the gallery-admins a map engine which is always free of charge, no matter how many visitors they've got.
